Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Hi all,
A reminder about clubs next week. As it's Parent / Carer Evenings, there will be no teacher clubs as well as some of Richard's clubs.
Clubs not on and restarting after half term: Computing, Choir, Doodle, Mindfulness, Sing and Play, Star Wars and Mixed Football.
Clubs still on (Richard's Monday and Tuesday only): Tennis and Girls' Football.
Photos:
The photography team will be back in on Monday 23rd October to do a catch-up session for children who were not in school. Staff will organise the children who missed the original photo date.
Thank you.
Dear Parents / Carers,
Starting after half term, our catering providers will be changing. We have been working hard over the past couple of months to find a suitable caterer to replace our current service, and it gives me great pleasure to announce that we are in the final stages of the provider taking up the service. They will take over the service after half term. Mr Miller and I visited a school that currently use our new provider and were blown away by the quality of what was on offer. In addition, we will also be able to offer lunch payments through Parent Pay. In preparation, we would ask families to only send cash to the school kitchen for meals to be taken up to half term, as these payments go direct to the local authority. I will update you as soon as possible with further details.
Mr Beacham
Thank you so much for all the donations to the foodbank. Mrs German's car was full to the brim! Your donations will go to families who are in need of help so a huge thank you!
Please support if you can. Thank you. Mrs German
Next Tuesday 10th October is Mental Health Awareness Day. As part of the day, many schools are hosting a non-uniform day and we're excited to be taking part, too. For the day, we want to celebrate individuality so children may choose to wear their bright, colourful or patterned clothing. If your child has P.E. they may wear their own clothing but please make sure they have trainers on and are able to exercise in their clothing.
Clothing should be appropriate for school e.g. shorts to the knees, no crop tops etc. Jewellery expectations remain as normal - a single pair of studded earrings.
Thank you. Have a great weekend.
Mr B
Dear Parents and Carers,
We're always striving for the best education for our children. We are looking to further expand our continuous provision for play-based learning, particularly in the Early Years. This is where we need you. We would be whole-heartedly grateful if you could look at the list below and check around your homes to see if you would be willing to donate some old or unused items. It's the perfect time of year for a Christmas clearout.
Please can we ask that any items are clean and un-broken. Please bring donations to the school office.
Thank you as always for your support.
Mr Beacham - Headteacher
Dear Parents and Carers,
You will probably have noticed we have a temporary fence on our playground. After receiving feedback from our school community, we are currently exploring how we can safely divide our outside space into a car park and a playground. This first step is to introduce a temporary fence to establish how much of a car park we are going to need.
From tomorrow, staff will use the Key Stage Two end of the playground as a car park. For children in Early Years and Years 1 and 2, drop-offs will remain as they are. For children in Years 3 to 6, please drop your children off at the normal time, on the new playground side of the fencing. Staff will greet children on the playground; children will make their way into class through the KS2 entrance. A member of staff will be stood in a visible position to direct the children to the KS2 door.
We are still currently researching ways into getting our pedestrian gate widened - it sounds much easier than it is in reality.
Mr Beacham
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this update finds you well. I am writing to inform you of our policy regarding the consumption of nuts.
As you may know, allergies to nuts are quite common and can be severe, even life-threatening for some individuals. We have children in our school who have been diagnosed with nut allergies. Their safety and well-being are of utmost importance to us. Therefore, we kindly request that you refrain from sending any food items containing nuts to school with your child. This includes all types of nuts, such as peanuts, almonds, cashews, pine nuts, and others, as well as foods that may contain traces of nuts.
We understand that this may require some adjustments to your child’s lunch and snack choices. However, we believe that with your cooperation, we can create a safer and more inclusive environment for all our pupils.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
Mr J Beacham - Headteacher
We are excited to inform you that on
Wednesday 11th October,
Black Hole Planetarium will be visiting Years 2, 3 and 4.
The planetarium is an inflatable space hemisphere for the children to become immersed in all things space. As scientists, the children will learn about a variety of topics including Earth, Space and light & dark. These topics are all linked to children’s science learning in Years 2, 3 and 4.
This is a fantastic opportunity for our children to explore something new and build their knowledge of space.
In order to run the session, we are asking for a small contribution of £3.50 each.
This can be paid via Parent Pay.
Should you have any questions do not hesitate to contact myself or your child’s class teacher.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Stevens Click link for to Letter to parents
The children have come back to school very settled. We started our day with an assembly where they learnt a little bit about me and few changes we've made over the summer. Children are loving our new points system using Classdojo and are looking forward to celebrating their successes in our new Achievement Assembly on Fridays. I can hear the Classdojo 'point pings' from my office. We've made a few changes to our Behaviour Policy following feedback from our families; it can be found on our Policies Page. Policies
A safety request from teachers:
At pick-up today, please could you step forward when your child is at the front of the line so our staff can identify who you are.
Uniform:
Thank you for ensuring children were in the correct uniform - they all look super smart. It certainly helps to make them feel they are a part of the school community.
Due to the rising temperatures, for the remainder of this week, children may wear their P.E. kit (in line with our uniform expectations) to help them keep cool.
P.E., Swimming and Forest School Days:
On the following days, please could children wear their P.E. kits or Forest School clothes.
