Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Whole school photo day - Friday 4th October
Dear Parents and Carers,
If your child attends Pre-School for afternoons only and you want them to have their photo taken, please bring them to school at 8am for their photo. The company will need to leave at 1pm and we don't want any of our afternoon children missing out. After, please take your child home and bring them back in at their usual start time.
Mr B
We need your newspaper!
We are planning for a very exciting whole school sculpture project that will happen in the spring term. To make this happen we need tons of newspaper. For every bag of newspaper a child brings in, Miss Horton will award them with 5 Dojo points!
Miss Horton
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you are all well and have had a smooth start to the beginning of term!
As school staff, some of us are trained in ‘positive handling’, which are techniques that can be used to de-escalate children when they pose a physical threat to themselves, others or property. Alongside strategies to diffuse situations, this also includes safe restraint in the event that this is required (this is always a last resort in order to keep people safe).
Our training provider has offered to deliver a session that is tailored to parents, focusing on the same content, but aimed at parent/child relationships.
In order to check that this is viable, we have been asked to estimate the number of attendees. The training will be held at Wychbold School and there will be a cost of approximately £30 per attendee. We will be in contact at a later date with some proposed dates.
If you are interested in this training, please indicate via the form below. We will be collating numbers on Thursday 26th September, so please complete before this date if you would like to attend.
Would you like to help us support our local community? Next week, we will be collecting items for local Foodbank. Sue Drew from Netherton Foodbank will be leading an assembly with the children to find out more about the work they do. Please see the attached list of items for ideas of what you can donate. Just bring them into school and we will deliver them to the Foodbank. Thank you for your support, Mrs German.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Please read this important update to keep all our children safe. Due to some severe nut allergies among our children, we’re asking everyone to avoid bringing any nuts or nut products to school.
Nut allergies can be very serious and even a tiny amount can cause a big reaction. To keep everyone safe, we need to make sure there are no nuts in the school.
Your help is really important to keep our school safe for everyone. By following this rule, you’re helping to protect children with severe allergies.
Thanks so much for your understanding and support!
Best wishes,
Miss Hemmings
Dear Parents and Carers,
It gives me great pleasure in sharing our latest Ofsted report from our visit in July this year. I am incredibly proud to share that our school has been judged as 'good' in all areas - a copy of the full report can be found: Ofsted Report. This is a remarkable achievement for our school community, following on from our previous inspection. This is a true recognition of everybody's hard work and efforts. Our school improvement journey will continue as we look to further enhance provision for all pupils - we have already started to work our areas for development.
Attendance has been highlighted as an area we need to work on and we need your support with this. We will share further updates about attendance over the coming weeks.
On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank you all for your continued support.
Have a great weekend,
Mr Beacham
Good afternoon,
We hope you all had a lovely summer break - we're very excited to be welcoming you all back and hearing about what you got up to in the 6 weeks' holiday.
Children in Year 1- 6, we look forward to welcoming you back tomorrow (Wednesday 4th September) at 8:40.
Children in Pre-School and Reception, the team have already let you know which date your child will start or return to us.
There won't be any P.E. on Wednesday 4th September. We will send you another message tomorrow to update on when your child has PE so they can come to school in their kits.
See you soon,
Mr Beacham
