RE: EYFS family information evening
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your support and flexibility over the last few weeks with induction to our Pre-School and Reception classes. It has been wonderful to see so many children join us for transition sessions and we are really looking forward to you child joining us in September.
We would like to invite you to a family information evening on Thursday 7th September at 5:00pm. This will be an opportunity for you to find out more about life at Dudley Wood for your child. We will talk through the curriculum in EYFS and what you can do at home to support your child’s learning. There will also be time to ask any questions you may still have about their school journey. If you are unable to attend, we will send out the presentation from the session for you to look through.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs M Williams
EYFS Lead
We're delighted to invite new families to Dudley Wood. If you are looking to join us in either Pre-School or Reception in 2024, we would love for you to visit us on our open days. Please see the dates below and get in touch!

For the year 1 trip please send the children in old outdoor clothes (similar to Forest School). Old shoes or trainers are essential, but no wellies as we will be climbing!!
If the weather is nice please bring a hat.
All of the events are outdoors.
On Tuesday 2nd of next week, Y5 will be visiting Frank Chapman. If your child is not in receipt of free school meals, please send your child with a packed lunch. Children should wear P.E. kits (no shorts), outdoor footwear and a jacket. The weather is looking overcast, but please send additional warm clothing and/or sunhats if it should change. We will leave at 9:15 and should return by 15:00. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of staff.
A reminder that ParentPay is the only way to pay for Trips and Night Owls.
Payment for Early Birds & Meals is still by cash at this time. We will update you when this changes.
A few parents have not yet signed up. The original letters from ParentPay were sent out in November 2022.
If you have not yet registered and cannot find your letter please email: contactus.dwps@riverscofe.co.uk and we will arrange a replacement which you can collect from the school office.
Our trips are starting to book now and you need to be signed up.

Dear Parents,
In connection with our geography work this term on rainforests and plant adaptations, an educational visit has been planned for Year 4 to Birmingham Botanical Gardens where we will explore the Rainforest and meet live animals.
The visit will take place on Tuesday 7th March. We will leave school at 9:15 a.m. and travel by coach and return to school for 3:15pm.
In order that the visit may go ahead we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £12 per child.
Each child will require a packed lunch (no bottles or cans please) in a named plastic bag. Those children in receipt of free school meals can be provided with a lunch if required.
We hope this will be an enjoyable and stimulating day for the children and thank you in anticipation of your support. Please log into your ParentPay account to book and pay for this trip.

It is with the greatest of pleasure that I am able to share with you that Mr Jon Beacham has been successfully appointed as the future Headteacher at Dudley Wood Primary School.
Mr Beacham is already part of the Rivers family, currently working at Heronswood Primary School in the role of Assistant Headteacher. He is looking forward to joining Dudley Wood and will write to you soon to introduce himself to you.
I know you will join me in both congratulating Mr Beacham and welcoming him wholeheartedly to Dudley Wood.
