We would like to share some pictures with you of our new meal service in action this week.
Your child's safety is our priority. Unfortunately, our little ones sometimes end up with a bump or a scratch. But not to worry, we have a large team of first aiders on hand to look after any of our children who may have an accident.
We're changing our procedures for reporting bumped heads to our families. If for any reason your child has a bumped head our new procedure will be as follows starting 9th November:
Minor head bump
To be checked and treated by a first aider. They will complete a head injury assessment. If your child is well enough to stay in school, you will receive a text message to simply inform you that your child has received a head bump. We will, of course, closely monitor your child for the remainder of the day. You will receive a letter of head injury advice when your child is dismissed. You don't need to phone us to check how they are. - we will call you if needed.
Minor head injury
To be checked and treated by a first aider. They will complete a head injury assessment. If your child is deemed not well enough to stay in school, you will receive a phone call to collect your child. You will receive a letter of head injury advice when your child is dismissed.
Thank you to all those who have ordered products through the class fundraising.
The items are slowly being delivered into school, so over the next few days your children will be coming home with them.
Great news – our online shop will reopen on:
Friday 17th November - Friday 24th November
This is to allow parents to order items that may have been out of stock previously and order extra items too. If you missed our previous deadline, I strongly urge you to look again as this will be our last opportunity.
Thank you for your continued support, if you have any queries, please speak to myself.
Regards,
Mrs Stevens
‘Be Spotacular’
Dudley Wood will be supporting ‘Children in Need’ on Friday 17th November. We would like you to be ‘spotacular’ by wearing something spotty! This could be a spotty top, a spotty accessory, or you could just stick some spots onto an old t-shirt – it’s up to you – be creative!
Pudsey’s ‘Bearpee’ Challenge!
We will also be taking part in Pudsey’s ‘Bearpee’ Challenge! This will take place throughout the school day. Each class will have an allocated time to complete as many ‘bearpees’ as they can!
I wonder how many ‘bearpees’ we can do collectively at Dudley Wood?
If you would like to contribute to Dudley Wood’s donation to Children in Need, please follow the following link

Dear Parents / Carers,
Starting from Monday 6th November (the first day back after half term), our new catering providers will be Relish!
Recently, we visited a school that currently use Relish! and were blown away by the quality of what was on offer.
In addition, we will be collecting lunch payments only through Parent Pay.
In preparation, we would ask families to only send cash to the school kitchen for meals to be taken up to half term, as these payments go direct to the local authority.
We will update you as soon as we are ready to take Parent Pay payments for meals.
Good afternoon,
During Parents / Carers' Evening, our Community Advocate, Heather Long, will be looking to hear your views on Dudley Wood. She will be based in the dining hall and will have cakes / biscuits with her. She would like to hear your views on:
We'd love to hear as many of your views as possible, so whilst you're waiting for your appointment, please pop into the dining hall, share your views and have a little treat.

Parent / Carer Evenings
Next Wednesday and Thursday, our Parent / Carer evenings are taking place. Thank you to all our families who have booked their appointments. If you haven't yet booked your appointment, please ensure you book your meeting. The link was included in a text and in our latest newsletter. Please remember that we request children do not attend this evening to allow open, professional conversations without interruptions. Thank you.
New Caterers
It gives me great pleasure to announce that Relish School Food will be our new food providers. We're really looking forward to working with them and improving the food service we offer. Relish are currently providers for our new Rivers school - Unity.
So that our families can see and taste the quality of the food being provided, we have asked Relish to set up a 'stall' on Thursday 26th October at pick-up time. This will be a chance for you to have a taste of some of the food on offer. We are also working with Relish to organise a second taster session after half term. For more information, please see Relish's website.
I hope you have a good weekend, Mr B.
