Welcome to our Pre School!

At Dudley Wood Primary School, we value everyone and we make every day count. We take care of our children as unique individuals, taking time to develop their interests, talents and personalities. We build strong relationships with parents, and work together to ensure our children are happy, safe and successful. 

This all begins in our Pre-School where we are guided by four principles:

A Unique Child

We believe that every child is unique and constantly learning. We strive to get to know every child well, so that we may build learning on their interests and so that we can celebrate their talents and enjoy their personalities. We believe every child can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. 

Positive Relationships

Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships. We are sensitive to the needs and feelings of our children and we know they will be different every day - some days quiet and thoughtful, other days more confident and ready to take big steps!

We also build positive relationships with parents. We have a real open door policy; we talk to parents and we take time to listen. 

Enabling Environments

We offer stimulating resources and spaces, and rich learning opportunities through play and playful teaching. We build learning over time supporting children to take risks and to explore!

Learning and Development

We recognise that children develop and learn at different rates. We foster the characteristics of learning through playing and exploring, active learning, and thinking creatively and critically.

Our staff encourage and develop warm relationships which enable children to flourish and develop their personal and social skills; preparing them fully for their transition to primary school.

Morning Session – 8:50am – 12:00 (3 Hours and 10 Minutes)  

Afternoon Session – 12:00am – 3:00pm (3 Hours)  

Full Day Session – 8:50am – 3:00pm (6 Hours and 10 Minutes)  

Each half-day session is £15. The whole day is £30.

At Dudley Wood Pre-School we offer:

- Funding for 3 & 4-year-olds accepted 15 hours per week or 30 hours per week if family qualify

- Shared use of Dudley Wood Primary facilities; large school hall, playground and the forest school site within the school grounds

- A highly qualified and experienced staff team across the Early Years Unit

- An exciting curriculum that is tailored around the children’s interests and backgrounds

- Pre-School uniform available for all children to purchase through the online shop
