Would you like to help us support our local community? Next week, we will be collecting items for local Foodbank. Sue Drew from Netherton Foodbank will be leading an assembly with the children to find out more about the work they do. Please see the attached list of items for ideas of what you can donate. • No Nuts in School

    Tue 17 Sep 2024

Important Notice: No Nuts in School

    Dear Parents and Carers,

Please read this important update to keep all our children safe. Due to some severe nut allergies among our children, we’re asking everyone to avoid bringing any nuts or nut products to school.

Nut allergies can be very serious and even a tiny amount can cause a big reaction. To keep everyone safe, we need to make sure there are no nuts in the school.

    What You Need to Do

    • No Nuts or Nut Products: Please don’t pack any food with nuts, like peanut butter sandwiches, nutty snacks, or anything that lists nuts as an ingredient.
    • Check Labels: Always read the labels to make sure the food is nut-free.
    • Nut-Free Snacks: Try packing fruits, veggies, cheese, or yogurt instead.

    How You Can Help

Your help is really important to keep our school safe for everyone. By following this rule, you’re helping to protect children with severe allergies.

Thanks so much for your understanding and support!

    Best wishes,

    Miss Hemmings

  • Dudley Wood Ofsted Visit July 2024

    Fri 06 Sep 2024

    Dear Parents and Carers,

It gives me great pleasure in sharing our latest Ofsted report from our visit in July this year. I am incredibly proud to share that our school has been judged as 'good' in all areas - a copy of the full report can be found: Ofsted Report. This is a remarkable achievement for our school community, following on from our previous inspection. This is a true recognition of everybody's hard work and efforts. Our school improvement journey will continue as we look to further enhance provision for all pupils - we have already started to work our areas for development.

Attendance has been highlighted as an area we need to work on and we need your support with this. We will share further updates about attendance over the coming weeks.

On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank you all for your continued support.

    Have a great weekend,

    Mr Beacham

    Tue 03 Sep 2024

    Good afternoon,

  • School Lunch Booking System

Wed 10 Jul 2024 Miss Hemmings

    Dear Parents & Guardians,

    School Lunches Booking System

We are pleased to inform you about a positive, exciting change to our school meal booking system. From September if your child requires school lunches, this will no longer be booked by school staff through the school registers.  Our new process allows you to book and select your child’s meal choice, through our external catering company Relish. www.relishschoolfood.co.uk.

Parents should book and pay for their child/rens meals in advance through this website. Your Parentpay account must be activated as Relish links with this. If your child receives free school meals or universal infant free school meals (Reception, Year 1 & 2), you should still book through the relish website, but no payment will be taken.

The latest parents can order via the website is 23:59 the day before the meal is taken. Payment for meals pre-ordered will be taken at the time of booking. Your Parentpay account will be in credit as meals are charged each day they are taken. The latest a home pre-order can be cancelled is 09:30am on the day. Any meal not cancelled after this time will be charged. You should cancel your child’s meal through the website, the school are unable to do this for you. We are also not able to issue refunds for any meals not cancelled.

If you have not pre-ordered a meal for your child, you will be required to send them with a packed lunch. If you have forgotten to pre-order your child’s meal, you will be called and asked to bring a packed lunch to school.  We cannot accommodate providing meals that have not been pre-ordered through our external catering company.

The booking system is available now to register and start pre-ordering your child’s meals for next term. We would advise that you do this before the end of term so we can assist with any issues. If your account has not been registered or activated, this is not something we can deal with on the first day of term.  Relish-Till_ParentGuidetoOnlineMealPreOrdering_Feb19.pdf (relishschoolfood.co.uk) please see link, demonstrating how to register and assign your child to your account. This is also available on Relish’s website.

Thank you for support with this, we hope that it will be a really positive change to the meal ordering system where parents will have more input and awareness of what their children are eating.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with this new process, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    King regards

    Miss C Hemmings

  • Drop off and collection arrangements

    Wed 10 Jul 2024

From Thursday 11th July 2024 we would really appreciate your support with a change to drop off and collection arrangements whilst our builders are working to start our exciting toilet refurbishment project.

    • There is no change for Pre-school, Reception pupils who will be dropped off and collected via their classes.
    • Year 1 and Year 2 will need to be dropped off and collected from their classes. Please be aware that this area will be busier than normal and we would appreciate parents' support to be patient in queuing to collect their children.
    • Early Birds will need to arrive via the main reception entrance.
    • KS2 children will arrive and be dismissed via the main reception entrance. At collection time school staff will still be responsible for escorting their class onto the playground and dismissing them from there. Please can parents not approach to collect children but wait until children are dismissed to them.
    • Please can parents ensure that at drop off they have ensured that their child has entered the building before leaving the playground.

Thank you all so much for your support.

  • Building works

    Mon 08 Jul 2024

    Good afternoon,

Over the coming weeks, you will see builders on site, preparing for some building works. From the final week of this term and into the school holidays, the children's toilets in Years 1- Year 6 are being completely revamped. In order for the builders to complete the work for the start of the next academic year, they will need to take out the current toilets, cubicles, sinks etc. The builders have devised a plan to bring temporary toilets onto the school site for the final week (week beginning 15th July) of this half term. This does not impact on any part of our school life - the children will be able to access the temporary toilets as normal. Early Years will be unaffected.

As well as this, you may have seen our new fence, separating the car park and playground. A new intercom system and "mag-lock" system has been installed. This should be finished and ready to work on 12th July.

We are currently working with contractors on plans to improve the Early Years areas and toilets.

As you are probably aware, these are significant and necessary improvements in our school - we are extremely grateful to the Rivers Central Team for working with us to carry them out.  These projects are a significant investment for us but we know these will enhance our facilities and safety for the children.

If you have any questions, please do ask.

    Mr Beacham

  • Update 28.6.24

    Fri 28 Jun 2024

    It's disco time!

Please see the attached poster for the PTFA Summer Disco. As previously, Pre-School children will have their own party in their sessions. After listening to your feedback, children can wear their non-uniform for the day. Tickets will be available to purchase via Parent Pay from Monday 1st July until Friday 5th July - no tickets can be purchased after this time to allow us to complete risk assessments etc. Snacks and drinks will be available for KS2 to purchase - this will be cash only. Children in football club may still attend their club - we will make sure they stop football a little early to be able to bust a few moves on the dance floor.

    Pets on the playground

As much as we all love our pets, unfortunately, pets are strictly prohibited from the school site so please refrain from bringing them with you.
