Dudley Wood Primary School and Pre-School
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Due to a family circumstance, we must postpone Miss Koumi's parents / carer evening Wednesday and Thursday. Whilst Miss Koumi will be teaching the class during the day, she will be unable to conduct the appointments. 2K’s parent/carer evening will now be on 21st/22nd Feb at the same times you have already booked. We appreciate that you may already have plans so if you can’t make the appointment, please let Miss Koumi know and we’ll find an alternative arrangement. I am so sorry if this causes any inconvenience, we wouldn’t have postponed if it wasn’t a matter of urgency. Miss Koumi and I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding on this.
Mr Beacham
Due to the increase in measles in Dudley, the NHS are offering pop up clinics to get MMR vaccinations. If your child has not had their MMR vaccinations, the NHS are highly recommending children have them. There are alternative vaccination options to cater for a range of dietary requirements, including gelatine free.
Please read the following information below:
Dear Parents and Carers, Please complete the online booking form for Pupil Meetings. Select your child's class teacher, the date you would like (Wednesday 7th February or Thursday 8th February) and the time. Appointments are strictly 10 minutes and only available times will be shown on the booking system. You will need to input an email where you will receive confirmation of your appointments. If you have more than one child in school, please make sure you book an appointment for each of your children via the booking system. If you are unable to attend in person during the evenings, we can offer a telephone consultation. Please indicate your preference in the drop down menu below. You MUST select the child's class teacher, even though it says optional. If your child has a SEN, you may also book an appointment to discuss your child's needs with Mrs Bowen.

Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for all your support over the last term. It's been a privilege to join Team Dudley Wood and to work with you and your children. I'm writing to update you on two staffing changes:
Miss Antill - Teaching Assistant in RCW- will be leaving us today. Miss Antill has been a brilliant asset to our team. I'm sure you'll agree, her dedication and nurturing personality has been a great influence on the children she has worked with. Whilst we are sad to see her go, we wish her the best of luck in her relocation.
Pat - our Housekeeper- is also retiring today. Pat has been at our school for many, many years. Pat is not only an amazing housekeeper but also an amazing person. She has touched so many lives here at this school with her kindness, humour, wisdom and passion. We are all very grateful for having her as part of our team. We wish her all the best for her retirement.
Lunches
After the Christmas break, sandwiches and jacket potatoes will return to our menu daily. This change has been made following feedback from our children and families. Due to this change, wraps will no longer be on offer, in replacement of sandwiches. Fillings will be ham, cheese or tuna mayo. See photo below with Relish's offer.
That leaves me with one thing to say. I hope you all have a relaxing break. To those celebrating Christmas, "Merry Christmas" from all staff; may 2024 bring you lots of joy and happiness. We can't wait to welcome you back on Tuesday 9th January.
Mr Beacham
Attention parents and carers.
Measles cases are on the rise locally, with confirmed cases in Birmingham. The NHS is calling on you to check your child's MMR vaccination status.
Measles can lead to serious complications, but two doses of the MMR vaccine provide lifelong protection.
Protect your children's health, contact your GP to catch up on any missed vaccinations.
