Dear Parents,
As you know, towards the end of Year 6 the children are required to sit their Key Stage 2 Statutory Assessment Tests or SATs.
We would like to invite you to a meeting on Wednesday 20th March 2024, at 5pm, where we will share more information about the Key Stage 2 SATs. We will discuss how the children are prepared for the assessment week, what the week looks like and how you can support your child at home.
Thank you for your support.
On Tuesday 27th February, we were very lucky to receive a visit from local author Angela Chater. She visited Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The children loved hearing her book- Stanley's Incredible Journey. Once Angela finished reading her book, children then participated in a workshop to inspire a love a reading.
As well as this, our Year 4 children had a team of local firefighter them. The firefighters discussed fire safety and highlighted the importance of children knowing escape routes during different scenarios that they might encounter at home and the procedures for reporting a fire when discovered. They also identified fire hazards in the home and learned about the correct place to position smoke detectors (hall and landing). Finally, children practised the stop, drop and roll and discussed why this was effective in putting out a fire
As well as our Book Fair in school, our P.T.F.A are having a book sale. Poster with details attached.
We know our children live in an ever-changing, technological world. As educators, we need to prepare children for life skills, which include how to use technology safely. To support families at home, James Radburn (Rivers Computing and Digital Innovation Lead) has created a webinar to show you what we cover in school, how you can help us and some top tips on staying safe online at home.
Please see the webinar link Online Safety Webinar.
If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to your child's class teacher or a member of the safeguarding team.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Staffing update: During Mrs Williams' absence, the staff who have been working with the children since January will continue until Mrs Williams returns. Mrs Chatha-Lally will continue teaching the class for four days then Miss Danks will undertake the remaining day. Mrs Baig is the class teaching assistant, who is based in the class for 5 days a week from 8:30-15:00. Unfortunately, she is off poorly this week. If you have anything you wish to discuss, please speak to any member of the Early Years team.
Mr B
Due to a family circumstance, we must postpone Miss Koumi's parents / carer evening Wednesday and Thursday. Whilst Miss Koumi will be teaching the class during the day, she will be unable to conduct the appointments. 2K’s parent/carer evening will now be on 21st/22nd Feb at the same times you have already booked. We appreciate that you may already have plans so if you can’t make the appointment, please let Miss Koumi know and we’ll find an alternative arrangement. I am so sorry if this causes any inconvenience, we wouldn’t have postponed if it wasn’t a matter of urgency. Miss Koumi and I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding on this.
Mr Beacham
Due to the increase in measles in Dudley, the NHS are offering pop up clinics to get MMR vaccinations. If your child has not had their MMR vaccinations, the NHS are highly recommending children have them. There are alternative vaccination options to cater for a range of dietary requirements, including gelatine free.
