Dear Parents,

We are looking forward to the start of the academic year in September 2022.

It would be most helpful if you would familiarise yourselves with the following important arrangements.

The first day back

The first day back for the children from Year 1 to Year 6 is Wednesday 7 September 2022.

Parents will be aware that start dates for Reception classes and Pre-School are different and letters to parents can be found below.

The start of the day

You may arrive between 8:40am and 8:55am. Please do not arrive before 8:40am as the doors will not be open and vehicles may still be arriving.

Children can come straight into school to settle in their classes ready to learn.

It is important to know that lessons start at 9:00am.

The end of the day

The end of the day for Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, and Year 4 is 3:10pm.

The end of the day for Year 5 and Year 6 is 3:15pm.

The 5-minute time interval will allow a safe and orderly departure from Key Stage 2.

It is important to know that we will not dismiss the children before 3:10pm. Please do not arrive early.

Please collect: Reception children from the reception classroom doors; Year 1 children from the Year 1 classroom doors, Year 2 children from the Key Stage 1 door and Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 from the Key Stage 2 door.

Food and drink

Please see the separate letter to parents giving information about school meals. This is on our website in the PARENTS area on the School Meals page.

If children are bringing a packed lunch from home it must be in a clearly labelled lunch bag.

All children should bring a healthy snack for morning break. Drinks and toast are not available to purchase in school.

All children should bring a water bottle clearly labelled with their name. This can be refilled during the day.

School Uniform

We expect children to wear uniform to school. Our uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of the school and a sense of belonging.

A Uniform Shop is available at the Key Stage 1 door on Monday 5  September from 4pm to 5:30pm.

During term time please do not come to the office to purchase uniform. Instead, uniform can be bought by sending the correct money in an envelope with the child’s name, class, item and size you require.

For details of our uniform please see the PARENTS area of our website.

PE

Being physically active is important.  We will begin PE lessons from the first day back.

Children should wear their PE kit to school on their PE day/days. Not having to change in school is a better option for us as time is not wasted changing and there is more time for PE. The children like it better too! For details of our PE uniform please see the PARENTS area of our website.

We are busy arranging the PE timetable and we will confirm the days when your child has PE before Wednesday 7 September. This is likely to be on 2 separate days and PE kit should be worn on both days.

Please remember - for outdoor PE lessons in cold weather children can wear jogging bottoms, sweatshirts, track suits and trainers. Dark colours are preferable.

We look forward to seeing you all in September and thank you for your continued support.
