At Dudley Wood Primary School pupil voice is considered vitally important, therefore we have a School Council. Our School Council is made up of 4 children from each year group who have been elected to represent all other pupils in school. Their main aim is to further improve our school.
The School Council meet weekly to discuss ideas and issues that are bought to them by other pupils. All children have the opportunity to put forward ideas and concerns to their representatives, who then bring the information to meetings.
Recently the School Council completed a learning environment walk of the school. They thought about aspects they liked and considered ways the school environment could be further improved. These ideas were then presented by members of the School Council to staff during a staff meeting. The ideas for improvement have been acted upon, highlighting the positive impact the School Council have in our school.
