Welcome to Dudley Wood Nursery!
Breaking News! Very strange footprints were found in the nursery garden last week. Bravely, the children followed to tracks and discovered a dinosaur egg hidden beneath the trees! The children decided that they needed to take the egg into Nursery where it was warm and safe. A few days later, the egg hatched into a stegosaurus!! The children researched about the size of this dinosaur (9 feet from head to tail!) and learnt that it was a herbivore.
Learning Together Day
Thank you to all the parents that came to our Learning Together Day. As requested by a few parents, I have put a link below to the powerpoint that was used to explain about pre-writing skills in Nursery. It includes various ways to support your child at home with their physical development.
Happy Valentines Day!! It's been all about love, love, love in Nursery over the last few days! We have decorated and printed hearts and even made 'love potions' outside. We also tied our love messages to balloons and sent them up in to the sky to spread the love!
Here in Nursery we love learning about numbers! Each week we have a new magic number and learn how to write it, count it and recognise it!
We love our new weekly finger gym challenges! These help us to develop our pre-writing skills. This week we are using the tweezers to make patterns with the gems! It's tricky but we love a challenge!
Happy New Year! We are very excited to welcome our new fish. We now have 6 new 'Little Mollies'!
Our new construction area! We love to build on a large scale! This has helped us to develop our gross motor skills and creativity.
We have been improving our outdoor area and have created some small worlds! We have chosen to make a dino world, fairy garden and a mini construction site. This is helping our imagination to grow and it encourages us to develop our language skills.
Here in nursery we love making lots of noise! We have used recycle materials to make our new music wall! This will help us to explore the sounds that objects make when we bang, tap and shake them!
